Medical Beauty: Clinics for Gen Z Target Acne Treatment

While there are plenty of options for fast and inexpensive facials at Silver Mirror or Glowbar, Spotless is solely focused on acne solutions and services. Founded by board-certified dermatologist and psychiatrist Dr. Amy Wechsler and her daughter Zoe Wechsler, the clinic offers treatments such as low dose steroid shots, acne peels and extractions, oral and topical prescriptions. Services are 100$ after a 250$ initial consultation. “I have always really loved treating acne and thought it's so important because when I clear up someone's skin it really changes their life for the better”, Dr Wechsler said. After Covid, she went to pursue an MBA at Columbia Business School and one day while discussing they came up with the idea. 

“I kept getting texts and emails from patients. I have a giant pimple, and I have a wedding tomorrow, an interview, a date whatever it was, can you come in and see me at night, all weekend and most of the time I couldn't go”. Now Spotless is open six days a week until 8PM, appointments can be made on an app or a website, and of course walk-ins. And the most important, treatments are delivered by nurse practitioners trained by Dr. Amy.

“We thought about a clinic that was a pimple shot bar, but then we quickly realized it should be all about acne”, Zoe explains. The duo is changing the way teens get acne care, making acne treatment accessible.
