For its fifth edition, running from September 17 to 27, 2026, Zurich Design Weeks transforms the Swiss metropolis into a vast laboratory of ideas. Blending creative circularity, urban installations, and a celebration of artisanal craftsmanship, the event invites the public to view everyday objects through a fresh lens.

As Switzerland’s largest design festival, Zurich Design Weeks brings together creators, studios, brands, and institutions across the entire city. Exhibitions, studio tours, the "Poster Safari" trail, and panel discussions set the tempo for these two weeks of creative effervescence.

With Zurich being the first Swiss city to sign the Circular Cities Declaration, the festival places sustainability and circularity at the core of its dialogue. It is no longer just about aesthetics or pure functionality, but about designing repairable, recyclable, and durable products capable of driving deep societal and ecological transformation.

Re-enchanting Materials, Celebrating the Craft

This quest for restraint and durability also relies on rekindling our emotional connection with objects. This is the core message behind the 2026 theme, centered on a "change of perspective."

Among the highlights of this year's lineup, FDM Fine Crafts gallery, co-founded by Florence de Montfort and Mirja Farronato, presents the exhibition "A moment in the making" at its Geigergasse location. The showcase honors the meticulous, often unseen work of high-precision fine artisans.

Visitors can admire handcrafted rope marquetry by Atelier Véronique de Soultrait (Lyon) alongside poetic paper sculptures from Studio Marianne Guély (Paris). By encouraging people to slow down and pay disciplined attention to materials and detail, the festival serves as an ode to slow-made principles and tomorrow's design.
