Swiss watchmaker Richard Mille and motorcycle manufacturer Brough Superior have collaborated to create a racing motorcycle called the RMB01.

The motorcycle will be available from Brough Superior Motorcycles' international network of distributors worldwide. The price is €200,000 excluding VAT.

Mechanical enthusiasts will be delighted with this new motorcycle straight out of the imagination of two great enthusiasts: Richard Mille and Thierry Henriette. The partnership between the Swiss watch brand Richard Mille and Brough Superior today unveils a unique racing motorcycle, produced in a limited edition of 150, already considered collector's items.

For 18 months, the two brands worked together in the utmost secrecy to develop this racing machine. Inspired by the Boardtrackers, the first racing motorcycles to appear in the United States in the 1910s, the RMB01 pays tribute to the raw and radical spirit of these machines. For Richard Mille, a lover of cars, aviation and all high-tech creations, the motorcycle had to reflect the watchmaking codes that the brand holds dear: whether it be innovative materials such as aluminium alloys, titanium and carbon, or the complex architecture of certain elements such as the rims inspired by watch gears or the casings echoing the design of tourbillon calibres, the motorcycle's design is executed without compromise.

Thierry Henriette explains: ‘Born from the meeting of two mechanics enthusiasts, this machine, both a leaping jaguar and a sprinter, full of power and femininity, will remain an unforgettable experience for the team.’ Indeed, for this great motorcycle designer, who decided to relaunch the legendary Brough Superior brand in 2013, the association was obvious. Recognised as the Rolls Royce of motorcycles, born in 1919 from the imagination of George Brough, the brand has always been synonymous with ultra-luxury. The current models, made from materials such as titanium and aluminium, exclude plastic parts and draw on the expertise of aeronautical companies in the Toulouse region, the birthplace of Airbus.

For Cécile Guénat, Creative and Development Director at Richard Mille, the choice of Brough Superior was obvious, based on the same technological standards: "The RMB01 embodies both masculinity and femininity, with curves that exude a certain sensuality. It allowed us to elegantly enter an unknown universe, where we were able to showcase extreme technical precision without compromise. We have brilliantly transposed our watchmaking expertise into this motorcycle, carefully interpreting the brand's identity. The level of detail is, in my opinion, unparalleled in the world of motorcycles."

Many of the bike's components have been designed exclusively for this model. The press release specifies that it features "a forged carbon frame, a self-supporting exoskeleton, combined with a structural engine machined entirely from solid blocks of aerospace-grade alloy. The same applies to the chassis (swingarm and fork). This design limits weight, ensuring efficiency. The 997 cm3 twin-cylinder engine, made from solid blocks of high-quality aluminium (5000 series alloy with high magnesium content), features casings machined entirely by a 5-axis CNC machine. Weight is optimised thanks to the precise contours of the internal parts and numerous recesses, with 160 kg of raw material resulting in 23 kg of finished parts.

The motorcycle will be available from Brough Superior Motorcycles' international network of distributors worldwide. The price is €200,000 excluding VAT.
