After more than ten years with the LVMH group, including three years at Bulgari, Laura Burdese has been appointed CEO of the Italian brand, succeeding Jean-Christophe Babin on 1 July 2026.
Laura Burdese began her career in luxury goods with the Swatch Group, working for several brands including Swatch and Calvin Klein, which she managed for four years. She then headed the Italian company Aqua di Parma for five years from Milan, before joining Bulgari at its headquarters in Rome. She was then appointed Vice President of Marketing and Communications for the brand in 2022, before being named Deputy CEO of Bulgari in July 2024.
During her ten years with the LVMH group, she successfully identified the language of desirability sought by the leading luxury group to raise and increase brand awareness, while remaining highly focused on developing Bulgari's watch industry and jewellery sector.
In her new role, Laura will continue the work accomplished by Jean-Christophe Babin over the last twelve years, consolidating Bulgari's appeal and sustainable growth, particularly in China. At this year's Watches and Wonders show, she said: "China remains our largest market, but in a much healthier and more balanced way than before. Our geographical diversification is much better today. It is clear that since the beginning of the year, the brand has enjoyed great success there thanks to the Year of the Snake, the favourite theme found in our Serpenti Tuboggas and Seduttori lines. In this regard, our initiatives have been very well received in the country. We have invested heavily there and this has given the brand a real boost at a time when other brands were deciding to divest from China."
After more than 25 years at LVMH, first at TAG Heuer and then at Bulgari, Jean-Christophe Babin is stepping down as CEO of Bulgari. Under his leadership, the company has undergone a profound transformation, consolidating its position as a Roman jeweller. Jean-Christophe will continue to serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bulgari, CEO of the hotel division and President of the Bulgari Foundation. He will also continue in his role as Director of the LVMH watch industry.
