Hermès, which has just appointed a new creative director for its menswear line, reported a 5% increase in sales for the third quarter of 2025 on Wednesday morning, reaching €3.9 billion, although this was slowed by unfavorable exchange rates.

The results are very encouraging for the French luxury group. With sales (€3.9 billion) in the third quarter of 2025 up slightly in Europe (+10.3% at constant exchange rates), America (+14.1%) and Asia (+7.6%), Hermès is seeing a significant acceleration in its overall growth.

Axel Dumas, CEO of Hermès, commented in a press release: “In the third quarter, Hermès stayed on course thanks to solid growth that attests to the success of our model. We remain committed to facing uncertainties, strengthened by the loyalty of our customers and the dedication of our employees.”

The leather goods and saddlery business continues to drive the group forward with remarkable growth of 13%, supported by strong demand for iconic products such as the Birkin and Kelly bags and the return of the Plume bag, as well as the success of new collections. This is a winning strategy for Hermès, which is gradually increasing its production capacity in France: in September, a twenty-fourth leather goods workshop opened in Charente, and three more will open over the next three years.

During today's audiocast, Antoine Riou, Hermès' head of investor relations, was unable to confirm a further price increase for 2026 but said that, if it were to happen, it would be less than this year's.

The Hermès brand has just announced the appointment of Grace Wales Bonner, a Jamaican-English designer who graduated from Central Saint Martins in London. She will present her first collection in January 2027 (Wales Bonner)

The fashion and accessories division also posted strong growth (+6%). A few days ago, Hermès announced that it was entrusting its men's collections to designer Grace Wales Bonner, following the departure of Véronique Nichanian, who will present her last show in January 2026. Known to a young audience who love her sportswear lines, Grace Wales Bonner's first collection will be closely scrutinized in January 2027.

The silk and textiles business also continued to grow (+4%), while perfumes and beauty products declined by 5%. “We are still working on it, but a new makeup line is normally planned for 2028,” said Antoine Riou.

Watchmaking also declined by 3%, penalized by a tense economic environment, but could rebound thanks to the group's willingness to invest and strengthen its expertise: last July, Hermès announced that it would be expanding its production capacity with the extension of its watchmaking site in Le Noirmont by 2028, creating around 100 jobs in the long term.

Other businesses, including jewelry and homewares, confirmed solid growth of 11%.

Looking ahead, Hermès is maintaining its annual growth target and expects the last quarter of 2025 to be even brighter than the previous one. “The group is continuing to grow with confidence, backed by its highly integrated artisanal model, its balanced distribution network, the creativity of its collections, and the loyalty of its customers,” the press release states.

At the same time, Hermès points out that it no longer has any operations in Russia and that all its stores there are now closed. The group also indicated its desire to develop its retail network “towards flagship stores of at least 500 square meters, with nearly fifteen store renovations planned for 2026, including the Geneva store, and three to four new openings, including a major one on Bond Street in London,” explained Antoine Riou.
