The project will include a 285-room luxury hotel, 272 luxury residential apartments, a three-level podium with a beach club, in addition to over 3,400 sqm of premium commercial, retail, and dining space. It will be situated in Surfers Paradise, a seaside resort on Queensland's Gold Coast. Altus group is expected to commence construction in August this year.

This is the second major announcement made by the Trump organisation this year. Its first was the launch of Trump International Golf Club, one of the two $10 billion projects to be built in Saudi Arabia in collaboration with a local builder Dar Al Arkan. The 2.6 million square meter site will be a gated community with premium residences around a Trump branded golf course and a luxury hotel.

Australia is Attracting Major Luxury Hotel Projects

The Gold Coast is currently undergoing a massive transformation into a global luxury destination, with several luxury resorts, residential and hotel projects slated for completion between 2026 and 2030.

Apart from Trump Organisation's luxury tower and hotel, another US$1.7 billion luxury project - La Pelago by local lifestyle real estate developer Gurner group is underway, in the Surfers Paradise region in the Budds Beach precinct of the Gold Coast. Measuring 13,000 sqm, it will have luxury residential area, international dining and retail space along with 9,000 sqm of tropical planting and water retreats. Australia’s first St Regis hotel with 185 rooms and suites is scheduled to launch here in 2027-28.

Meanwhile in the northern end of the Gold Coast, in the Mariner’s Cove, a new waterfront precinct is being redesigned in a $480 million project. A Ritz-Carlton hotel that started construction here in 2022 is likely to open by the end of this year.

In Western Australia, Minor Hotels announced the introduction of its first Anantara property to be located in Perth. The US$ 2.66 billion ( AU$ 3.8 billion) is expected to be ready by 2032 and will feature an Anantara spa, two destination restaurants, 150 guest rooms and suites, a swimming pool and a fitness center. The hotel will be located on the Swan river waterfront at the Burswood point in Perth, the capital city of Western Australia state and will be developed by Perth’s Golden Group and Agung Sedayu, an Indonesian developer.

At the Oscars, the Cult of Legends Does not Erase the Question of What Comes Next

Leonardo DiCaprio, Timothée Chalamet, Emma Stone, Elle Fanning, and many other stars are expected to attend the 89th Academy Awards ceremony on March 15. These big names in cinema will cause a stir on the red carpet and on social media. However, the stakes are much higher than audience ratings: the question is how the Academy Awards will continue to interest the younger generation and succeed in passing on and keeping alive a passion for cinema in the age of artificial intelligence. Swiss watchmaker Rolex is committed to this and is stepping up its support.
