HUBLOT launches two NFTs with artist Takashi Murakami

The Hublot brand has announced the creation of two digital NFT artworks in a limited edition of 324 pieces. They are directly inspired by the Hublot Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami watches.

Hublot launches two NFTs exclusively with the artist Takashi Murakami (DR)

This Friday, April 1, Hublot is creating a stir in the NFT collector community by announcing the creation of two Crypto arts in collaboration with superstar artist Takashi Murakami. These are inspired by the Hublot Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami All Black and the Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami Sapphire Rainbow, the first two watches to be launched jointly by the Swiss watchmaker and the great Japanese artist in 2021. Both works represent the Japanese artist's iconic broad-smiling flower and his superflat movement. Ricardo Guadalupe, CEO of the Hublot brand, said: "We had to find the right angle. When Murakami told me about his idea of designing an NFT with Hublot by creating a virtual work inspired by the watch, I immediately agreed. The project is to offer this exclusive NFT to each of our customers who already own a Hublot Murakami watch. We will contact them and offer them this NFT token. Thanks to the guarantee of their watch already saved in the blockchain, they will be able to activate the key that will allow them to download the digital work linked to their watch. It's a way of looking after our community. They are free to keep or resell this NFT."

Made in 324 pieces in total, there will be an All Black version with 216 pieces and a Rainbow edition with 108 pieces. "We can imagine that the craze will be certain, explains Ricardo Guadalupe. Even if we don't have any notion yet of the value of these 324 NFTs since we offer them to our clients, everyone has in mind the success of Murakami when he resold his unique NFT work for more than 400,000 dollars. But this launch is not a commercial operation. It is a way for us to enhance our relationships with our customers and to attract new ones. On Twitter, the mere announcement of a Hublot deal in the NFT sector has the Crypto art collecting community in an uproar."

Other projects in the NFTs segment are under consideration, as well as a potential presence on the metaverse.
