What’s new on Broadway?
Watching a Broadway show is a must when landing in New York city. In 2023, a wide array of new Broadway shows, from plays to classic musical revivals to new twists on time-honoured stories, will be premiering. Around 18 shows have already been announced. One of them is the play adaptation of Life of Pi, which captivated audiences on the page and on screen, and will be roaring to life on the New York stage from 9 March. An adaptation of the first Oscar-winning Western High Noon (date tbc), as well as Back to the Future: The Musical (from July 1st), will also be premiering next year. Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap (date tbc), the longest-running play in the world is coming to New York for the first time ever. New comedies will include Jaja’s African Hair Braiding (date tbc), set at a Harlem salon, as well as Shucked (from March 8th), a new musical comedy.
