Technology for well-being
After three years of research, the Ming Shan Digital Experience installation, developed by EPFL+ECAL Lab, has been installed at the new Ming Shan Lay Taoist Centre in the canton of Vaud, Switzerland. The immersive installation promotes meditation and well-being by generating light and sound from body signals. Light intensity, rhythms and colours change during the session according to the participants’ physiological parameters, such as breathing or heart rate. As a finalist for the Swiss Design Prize 2021, the installation now opens up new horizons for influencing well-being.
