Music as a getaway

From 27 January until 5 February 2023, CTM, a festival in Berlin celebrating experimental, contemporary and electronic music, will be taking place in special places of the city’s nightlife. The 24^th edition of CTM focuses on South Asian electronic music and will be around the motto “Portals”. This theme uses the metaphor of the portal as a curatorial shape through which one enters specific modes of experience, histories, and practises of world-building, and further reflects on the preconditions, regulation, and fundamental function of sound and music as gateways to other realities. A notable programme feature is Afropollination, which aims to encapsulate the process of artistic and social cultural pollination, facilitating creative encounters between artists, genres, identities, ideas, cultures, and technologies from various regions of Africa and Germany.
