Abu Dhabi in the Age of the Guggenheim
After two decades of development, the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi will open its doors on December 11, 2026, becoming the largest museum in the Guggenheim network. Designed by Frank Gehry, this monumental project is already establishing itself as a new architectural landmark in the Saadiyat Cultural District, alongside the emirate’s leading cultural institutions.
Dedicated to modern and contemporary art, the museum will bring together a collection that is both international and rooted in the art scenes of West Asia, North Africa, and South Asia. With its 30 galleries and spectacular architecture inspired by the traditional wind towers of the Gulf, it embodies Abu Dhabi’s ambition to establish itself as one of the world’s new cultural capitals.
