A green event arena in Munich
Populous Architects has been selected to build a new 20,000-seat, carbon-neutral multi-purpose arena in Munich, Germany. Thousands of solar panels on the roof of the building and around the site, combined with the potential of geothermal energy and district heating, will ensure the energy supply needed to run the venue. Located on a new green space next to LabCampus, Munich Airport’s technology and innovation centre, the arena draws on Bavarian heritage with a supporting structure that pays homage to the diamond shape used in the Bavarian state flag. Deloitte, the leading auditing firm, estimated the gross added value for Freising, the exact city of construction and the region at around 285 million euros per year.Une arène verte à Munich
