A giant lantern festival

In the Philippines, Christmas is of great importance, linked to the country’s big Catholic community, the largest in Asia (80% of the population). Their festivities are characterised by a giant lantern festival, which involves different villages. They compete in an artistic challenge. The goal? To create the most unique and beautiful lantern. These disc-shaped lights, with a diameter of seven to eight metres, are built entirely by hand using paper.
