Dr. Philipp Scharfenberger is Vice Director of the Institute for Customer Insight at the University of St.Gallen (ICI-HSG). His research focuses on brand management as well as symbolic consumption and the psychology of ownership. He has cooperated with various international premium and luxury companies in contexts such as fashion and design, automotive, and financial services. He is a lecturer for marketing and consumer behavior at the University of St.Gallen and founder of the HSG Brand Excellence Circle – a joint venture of renown brands exchanging best practices in brand management.
