ArtGenève was off to a better start and is celebrating its 10th edition this year, at Palexpo, with no less than 80 galleries present. Initially announced for the end of January, the annual event for contemporary art in French-speaking Switzerland will take place from 3 to 6 March 2022.

The modern and contemporary art fair should have officially celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2021 but, for obvious health reasons, has been forced to cancel and postpone. However, it will be possible to catch up online with a curated digital publication.

A number of Swiss galleries will be on show, but also traditionally the famous international galleries, such as David Zwirner (exhibited Dan Flavin, Gordon Matta-Clark and Yayoi Kusama, among others), Christine König Galerie (represented Ai Wei Wei), Perrotin (Maurizio Cattelan's banana scandal at ArtBasel Miami, but also Murakami, JR, Calle, Delvoye), QG Gallery, etc.

The menu in brief: New York's Pace presents the work of Lucas Samaras, Parisian Eva Meyer remains classic with Ernts, Picabia, Duchamps, Taste Contemporary concocts an original group show and ADN Galeria also offers an interesting group selection.

Institutions such as the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco, the MAMCO Geneva and the Centre Pompidou will also be present. Sound and photography will be in the spotlight this season with two dedicated spaces. The Art Talks will discuss the climate crisis, activism, fashion, mysticism, gender and NFTs with quality guests including Dirk Boll and Raw and Radical Women in the Arts Podcast; a promising cocktail of conferences.

ArtGenève, with its rich and diversified selection, wants the microcosm of the art market to mix and cohabit with that of museums and foundations. And thus to compose an overall vision of the current art world, where dialogues and interactions between economy and culture can emerge.

This edition will be able to ride the wave of the cultural and event renaissance, after this pandemic hibernation. An edition as fresh as spring.

A must-see:

- DESTE Foundation for Contemporary Art - Kaari Upson (booth A30) installation in honour of the artist Kaari Upson

- Financialization, Economic Valuation, and Media Representation presented by Raw and Radical Women in the Arts Podcast, conference Saturday 5 March at 3pm
